Disgorged in July 2020 with two grams per liter dosage, the latest
release of Egly-Ouriet's NV Brut Grand Cru (a cuvee formerly labelled as
"Tradition") is based on the 2015 vintage, complemented by reserve wines
from 2014, 2013 and 2012. Wafting from the glass with aromas of crisp
golden orchard fruit, honeycomb, fresh bread, mandarin orange and
praline, it's full-bodied, broad and vinous, with superb depth at the
core, impressive concentration and extract, tangy acids and a pinpoint
mousse. This is another superb bottling from Egly, and it's one
that-along with its V.P. counterpart-is a fixture on my table. |
