| From largely 50-year-old (but some ancient) vines in parcels north of town,
below Mazis, and along the route nationale, the 2005 Gevrey-Chambertin
Coeur du Roi offers striking bitter black fruit concentration and marrow-like
meatiness. Low-toned cassis, blackberry, black chocolate, marrow and wet
stone inform a finish of striking purity and persistence, albeit in a rather
somber key and wearing its extract, abundant if fine tannins, and new wood
in rather obvious fashion. The rather monolithic impression on this occasion
might ultimately prove deceptive. Certainly this wine’s sheer raw intensity
suggests a decade or more of cellaring is warranted. |

| Collectively, Bernard Dugat’s 2005 grand cru collection -- likely to be bottled in late Spring -- represents a remarkable achievement. From vines of mixed age (one third of them in Mazoyeres), the 2005 Charmes-Chambertin (of which there will be around 175 cases) is remarkable for its polish and creaminess of texture yet at the same time freshness of pure, palate-staining fruit. Red and black currant are wreathed in musky flowers and laced with walnut oil, orange liqueur, ineffable spices, licorice, salt and chalk. The subtlety and mystery of flavors and texture and sheer length on exhibit will leave you shaking your head. (Dugat’s 2004 Charmes, incidentally, offered a clarity, palate-staining intensity and ageworthiness that few red Burgundies of that vintage can match.) It should be atwenty-year wine. |

The 2000 Charmes-Chambertin boasts a violet-spice,
and black cherry-scented nose. This dense,
syrupy wine is medium to full-bodied and
layered with powerful chocolate-covered black
cherries. Its magnificent personality is
luxuriant, well-structured, and exceedingly
long. Projected maturity: 2007-2018.
No offense to Peter Weygandt, this estate’s
importer, but can anyone think of an easier
job than having to sell Bernard Dugat’s
wines? For the past decade, this 7.5 hectare
(18.53 acre) domaine has consistently produced
exceptional wines, a testimony to the relentless
pursuit of quality exhibited by Dugat, his
wife, and children. “Yes, it’s true that
we live in the vineyards, working from morning
to night, but the primary reasons we don’t
have the same problems as many others in
Burgundy is that we concentrate on having
low yields and are fortunate enough to have
old vines,” sais Bernard Dugat. |

2000年のデュガ・ピーは凄い成功を収めております。 ブルゴーニュの1位 2位を独占しております。 肝心のシャンベルタンの評価は出ておりませんが、下記のマジ・シャンベルタンが97点で1位ですから、それ以上というところでしょうか！ 飲んでみたい |
